Welcome to Singlewall, the online home and portfolio for Marc Bertone. This site is in a constant state of flux, as I update the various pages with information about my design and development projects, as well as the little distractions (books, blogs, bands) that keep me happy and wise.
I grew up in Watsonville, on the central coast of California. After graduation from Watsonville High School, I moved to the Bay Area to attend Santa Clara University. In 2000 I graduated with a degree in Computer Engineering and 3 days later went to work for Docutek. Seven years later I find myself self-employed and excited to work on some new projects!
My primary expertise is the creation of web-based applications, as well as websites that contain dynamic pages and self-managed content. The main technologies that I use are PHP, ASP.NET, VB.NET, HTML, CSS, AJAX, and JavaScript on the scripting side. On the database side I am fluent in implementation and design using mySQL, Access and Postgres. On the server side I have used all flavors of Windows / IIS (server and desktop) well as OSX, Ubuntu and FC6 Linux with Apache.
